Cognizant is an American multinational corporation that provides IT services, including digital, technology, consulting, and operations services. It is headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey, United States. Cognizant is part of the NASDAQ-100 and trades under CTSH. It was founded as an in-house technology unit of Dun & Bradstreet in 1994, and started serving external clients in 1996.Cognizant had a period of fast growth during the 2000s, becoming a Fortune 500 company in 2011.Cognizant is led by Brian Humphries (CEO).

 

Cognizant provides information technology, information security, consulting, ITO and BPO services. These include business & technology consulting, systems integration, application development & maintenance, IT infrastructure services, analytics, business intelligence, data warehousing, customer relationship management, supply chain management, engineering & manufacturing solutions, enterprise resource planning, research and development outsourcing, and testing solutions.

 

It has more than 2 lakhs employee in India in 10cities, which is very good reason to be popular in India. In 2012, it dethroned Infosys from the No 2 spot become the second largest company in terms of revenue after TCS. It has almost no firing rate, Cognizant do not fire their employees. Unless, some unfortunate circumstances. Tremendous rate growth shown by Cognizant in last 5 years, which resulted in large scale hirings, good bonuses and hikes for existing employees. Cognizant have very good policies when it comes to HR and employee satisfaction.

Overview

Cognizant has an enthusiasm for the Indian market and so it is easy to get this job if you put in good effort. Compared to the previous patterns, the current pattern is easier. Don’t skip any section as this test has sectional cut off. Get a lot of reading practice as you will have to read pretty big paragraphs within a minute. Cognizant off campus drive is an excellent opportunity for the candidates to get a job in the IT Sector. There are on campus drives as well.

Hiring Criteria

Academic Criteria:

1) A candidate must have more than 60% marks in 10th and 12th (or diploma).

2) A candidate must have a minimum of 60% marks in graduation.

3) A maximum gap of 1 year is permissible after HSC(12th) and not after SSC(10th) or in between semesters of graduation.

4) A candidate should not have any pending backlogs at the time of appearing for Cognizant selection process.

 

Cognizant policies:

1) If a candidate has attended an interview within the past 6 months from the date of new application, then he/ she is ineligible to apply.

2) If a candidate has been rejected by Cognizant in an interview, then the candidate is ineligible to apply again for a period of 6 months after the interview.

3) If for some reason Cognizant has terminated the candidate's application, then the candidate is ineligible to apply. 

4) If for any reason a candidate after applying in Cognizant, misses the opportunity to give the interview then the candidate holds the right to apply again and can attend the selection process.

 

Documents required:

1) All original mark sheets related to SSC (10th), Intermediate(12th) and Graduation are required to be produced at the time of interview. Also, please carry a copy a set of all documents at the time of interview.

2) A copy of candidate's updated resume.

3) Passport size photographs.

4) An original identification proof issued by the government of India (Aadhar Card, Pan Card, Voter id, Passport etc.)

INTERVIEW

 

Technical Interview

The questions are entirely based on the technologies mentioned in the Job Description. The candidate might be asked to write a piece of code, or an algorithm to demonstrate the knowledge required in the particular field. Questions might also be based on the tools and technologies used in past projects

 HR Interview

It helps to determine a candidate's personality. Questions can be of wide range starting from your introduction, Qualification, Experience, Industry specific experience, Courses done, your strengths and weaknesses, salary expectations, friends, family etc. . Be ready to take questions based on your CV - internships, projects, volunteerships and co-curricular activities.

Never say No when interviewer asks - Do you have any questions for me? Ask about company's culture and progress associated or something you wnat to know.
