HIRING CRITERIA

Academic and Graduation Criteria:

 

  • A candidate must have a minimum of 60% in their 10th, 12th to sit for Robert Bosch recruitment process.
  • A candidate must have obtained 65% in their Graduation to sit for bosch hiring process.
  • A candidate must not have any backlogs at the time he/she sits for Robert Bosch Selection Process. 
  • A candidate should have a B.E/B.Tech degree specialized in CSE/IT/Mech/EEE/ECE.

Recruitment Policies:

 

  • The candidate should be willing to work for a minimum period of 1 year from the date of joining.
  • Only Freshers are eligible for the Robert Bosch campus placements.
  • The candidate should be flexible to work anytime according to the requirement.
  • Any candidate who attended the Robert Bosch recruitment process in the last 6 months is ineligible to apply.

SELECTION PROCESS

The following are the rounds taken by the company to bbe eligible for Bosch recruitment process:

 

  1. Group Discussions
  2. Online Test (Aptitude)
  3. Technical Interview Round
  4. Personal HR Round

 

Group discussion is not a mandatoty round . It is an exception and is taken for hiring in some specific fields.Topics include the current topics of the economy including teen talak, demonetisation etc.

 

The next round ; written round  is a mandatory one designed for all the canditates sitting for  the hiring of Bosch . It is taken either through onlne mode or offline mode . It contains two sections:

  • Aptitude
  • Technical 

 

Aptitude is further seggregated into Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability  & Logical Reasoning.

 

Technical section is depended on the core stream applied by the canditates. According to the job - requirment and job - profiles this test is designed. It generally consists of questions from topics such as Network Basics, Electronic Device, Circuits, Analog, C language, OS and DBMS.

 

 After clearing all the above rounds, the final round is  HR round. It is quite  easy compared to other rounds. HR asks questions related to the canditate' s and his / her resume. Other questions include why the canditate should be hired , how can he be beneficial for the company , what all qualities differentiates him/ her from others.

PATTERN

Based on the above selection process ; Bosh Ltd. has designed the following paper pattern for the written exam:

There are overall 60 questions ; 25 in Aptitude which covers all the three sub sections : Quantitative Aptitude , Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning . The other one is the Technical section comprising of 5 questions that have to be answered in 35 minutes. Total time duration is 60 minutes.

Overall there is no specified course especially for the Technical part. This section is mainly focussed and designed depending upon the kind of profile the canditates are appearing for.

 

For the technical PI, some of the important topics are Thermodynamics, Applications, Strength of Materials, Fluid mechanics, Forming, Metal cutting, Materials science, Some mechanisms (TOM) and Design.

 

Following are the type of questions asked in the technical round of the selection process in case of Bosch hiring:

  1. State the laws of thermodynamics and list their application.
  2. Difference between a CI and an SI engine, a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke engine.
  3. How does viscosity of gases vary with temperature? Why? What about liquids ? Is the variation same/different? Why?
  4. Draw a Mohr's circle for the given stress combination. List the assumptions involved.
  5. Detailed stress-strain diagram for ductile and brittle materials. Differentiate true stress/strain and engineering stress/strain.
  6. What is fracture strength, proof strength, endurance limit, factor of safety? Why is factor of safety important?
  7. What makes a process irreversible? What about irreversibility of a cycle?
  8. Types of beams. Draw Shear force diagram and Bending Moment diagram for a given beam and load. How does a bar differ from a beam? Differentiate column and a truss member. How do you decide stability of a truss?
  9. What will happen if one puts petrol in diesel engine, and vice-versa?
  10. State various forming processes in brief. What are the types of rolling mills? Differentiate cold-working and hot-working. What is Annealing, glass transition temperature,Coining, Embossing?
  11. How are toothpaste tubes made? What is the type of forming method used? What are such tubes called?
  12. How do you design a fan? What are the factors you can consider while optimizing the design? What about a study-table? How do you go about designing it? How do you decide upon its cross-section?
  13. How are plastic bottles made? Can you suggest any other methods?
  14. What do you mean by laminar flow? What is hydraulic diameter? How do you decide which dimension of the body relates to hydraulic diameter?
  15. What is boundary layer thickness? How does velocity of fluid vary in the entry region and developed region?
  16. What is Normalizing, Austempering? Define carburizing and cyaniding. What are the types of carbon steels? What is cast iron? Classify cast iron.
  17. Using Bernoulli's equation, find an expression for time taken to empty a tank of height 'H' through a orifice of area 'a'. The tank area is 'A'. Make necessary assumptions.
  18. Types of tool used in lathe and shaper machine. What is grinding? How is it different from reaming and broaching? What is milling? Compare milling, grinding and drilling.
  19. Mechanism involved in shaping machine, elliptical trammel,etc.
  20. What is a differential? Explain its working. Classify gears. Application of gears. Function of a screw-thread, self-locking, efficiency of a screw-thread.
